    NEIL ARMSTRONG

    Early life

    Neil Armstrong was born on august 5 1930 , Wapakoneta Ohio U.S.A . His dad was Stephen Armstrong and mum was Viola Armstrong. He had 2 siblings June and dean. His
    Dad is a test pilot and surprisingly he gets $800,000 A year. His mom is a house wife..

    Main events

    Neil Armstrong Is famous because of his courage of being the first man to walk on the Moon. He made America proud and very famous. He is considered very important because it is very hard to reach moon and people have failed to reach the moon.

    Legacy

    He died on august 25 2012 aged 82 in Cincinnati Ohio. He died of illness called blocked coronary arteries. He has won many medals presidential medal of freedom and congressional medal of honour and last of all The Robert.H memorial Trophy.

    Florence Nightingale was born in Florence Italy on 12th May1820.Florence Nightingale was from a wealthy family.She had a sister named Parthenope.Her parents were from England.Her father was a landowner and her mother was a house wife.

    Florence Nightingale is the founder of modern nursing.She was trained to be a nurse.She opened a nursing school.Florence and her nurses went to the crimean war and saved many soilders lives.She is a very important person because if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have neat and clean hospitals.

    Legacy

    Florence Nightingale died on 13th of August 1910 at the age of 90.She died in her sleep.

  3. Isaac Newton
    Early life

    Isaac Newton was born on the 25th of December 1642 at Woolsthorpe manor, Lincolnshire. His dad was called Isaac Newton too who died in October 1642and was a farmer and his mum was called Hannah and she didn’t have a job. At this time King Charles the 1st was away at war, and there was an English Civil War. His mum said that he was so small that his could fit inside a quart pot (1.5 Litres). When he was 3 his mum re-married to a man called Barnabas Smith. He was a clergyman; he was also very wealthy and was already 63! When Hannah left she told her mum to look after Isaac at Woolsthorpe manor. In August 1653 Isaac’s mum came back but so did 2 half-sisters called Mary and Hannah and a half brother called Benjamin.

    Isaac Newton is famous for lots of things which are still important today.
    Newton’s discoveries in mathematics are the foundation of how we calculate things today.
    He also discovered forces like gravity that help us understand how objects move. That helps people design all sorts of things like roller-coasters and rockets.
    His discoveries in astronomy also help us understand the universe and his invention of the first reflecting telescope helps us look at planets and stars.

    Legacy

    Isaac Newton died on the 20th March 1727 (aged 84) and is buried in Westminster Abby.

  4. Albert Einstein

    Early life
    Albert Einstein was born in 1875 in Germany. His father Herman Einstein, was a sales man and engineer. His mother Pauline Einstein was a homemaker and a talented pianist. Albert Einstein had only one sister called Maja Einstein.
    Main events
    Albert Einstein became famous at age of 40 for the Theory or Relativity. Even though he is famous Alberts theories have not made a huge impact on every day life except for applications involving satellites.
    Legacy
    The death of Albert Einstein came came on April 18 in 1975 in Princeton,New Jersey. After a long illness , he died peacefully in his sleep. It happened because of a ruptured artery in his heart.

    Early life

    Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio in U.S on February 11,1847. Thomas Edison's dad was called Samuel Odgen Edison and his job was lighthouse keeper. And Thomas Edison's mother was called Nancy Matthews Elliot and she didn't have a job. Thomas Edison had 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

    Thomas Edison became famous because he invented lots of things like light bulb, telephone and other different things . He made lots of useful things in people's life. Thomas Edison is very important because if he was not born we won't have any lights and we will have to use candles also he invented telephone and if there wasn't telephone we will not able to call people.

    Thomas Edison died on October 18 , 1931 at the age of 84 in West Orange ,New Jersey ,U.S

    Ghandi

    Early life

    Ghandi was born in october 2nd 1869 in Porbandar India .Ghandi's parents were a governor.

    Main evennts

    Ghandi is famous because he made world peace. Ghandi is still considered important because he made world peace in world war 1.

    Ghandi died by getting shot in january 30th 1948 in New Delhi India.

  7. George Washington

    George Washington was born in 1724, not 1732 as many people say. George Washington was the eldest of Augustine Washington's and Mary Ball's six children. George Washington grew up in Virginia.

    When George Washington was 16 he went to work as a surveyor.

    George became a leader in the Virginia army and became involved in the French and Indian war. After the war George Washington married Martha Dandridge. They never had their own children.

    George became a general of the continental army when they decided to fight Britain. He led an army of farmers to war against trained British soldiers. However after six years he won and defeated the British army. He won at the final battle of Yorktown on October 17, 1781

    George Washington was president of the United States for two terms from 1789 to 1797. He was also the first president of the United States. He helped decide and build the US government from the words of the constitution.

    George Washington died after catching a very bad cold on December 14, 1799.
    The capital of America is named after him.

  8. Nelson Mandela

    Rolihlahla "Nelson" Mandela was born the 18th of July 1918 to Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa and Nosekeni Nkedema. He was their youngest son. At the age of 7 he entered school and he was the first one from the family to do so. Not many black South Africans did at the time as the nation was ruled by whites.

    At the age of 9 his father died of lung disease and Nelson had to move in with a chief. He was a very good student and liked studying politics and law. At the age of 21 his new dad had found him a marriage. Nelson did not want to marry his dad's choice so he ran away to Johannesburg.

    In Johannesburg he married Evelyn Mase and had 3 children called Thembi, Makgatho and Makaziwe. He worked as a clerk and was paid 2 pounds a week. He was very active against apartheid which had just been introduced.

    He then started dedicating his life to protesting against apartheid and was once put on trial for treason. He then married Winnie Mandela. Nelson and Winnie had 2 children called Zenani and Zindzi.

    He is now wanted and is forced to travel to Europe. He is later imprisoned for life. He stayed in 3 prisons; Robben Island, Pollsmoor prison and Victor Vester prison. In 1990 he was released and joined forces with president F. W. de Klerk to abolish apartheid completely. In 1994 he was elected president of South Africa after the first ever multiracial vote.

    He stayed as president to 1999 when he stepped down to life long friend Thabo Mbeki. He married Graca Machel in 1998. He died on the 5th of December 2013 in Johannesburg. He died in his bed.

  9. William Henry Gates III

    Early life:

    Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington on October 28, 1955. Gates is the second of three children. He was born into a wealthy and caring family. His mother was a former teacher, a member of the University of Washington's Board, a chairwoman of United Way International and on several boards of big companies. His father was a partner in a well known Seattle law firm. Gates attended Lakeside High School and Harvard University, although did not finish Harvard.

    At only 13 years old, Gates and Paul Allen started experimenting with a tele type computer at Lakeside school . This started his early interest in software and programming. Bill invented a tick tack toe game and a war game. Bill and Paul as teenagers ran a small company called 'Traf-O-Data' and sold a computer to the city of Seattle that could count city traffic. Bill Gates attended Harvard University. During this time Bill wrote a version of the programming language BASIC for the 'MITS' Altair microcomputer.

    Main events:

    In 1975, before graduation Gates left Harvard to form Microsoft with Paul Allen. They planned to make software for the personal computer market. Microsoft became famous for its computer operating systems and great business deals. For example, Bill convinced the team at IBM to use Microsoft's MS-DOS as an operating system for their new personal computer. One year later Gates made 16 million dollars from the licensing of MS-DOS.

    In 1984 Microsoft introduced Windows, a next-generation operating system. Within a year Microsoft had more than 25 million license users. By 1993, Gates was named the richest man in America and would hold the title for 18 years. In 1994, Bill Gates married Melinda French Gates. Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, have started the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with more than $28.8 billion dollars to support areas of global health and learning.

    Michelangelo's life.

    Michelangelo was born on the 6th of March 1475. He was born in Italy, in a village called Caprese Michelangelo had 5 brothers: Lionardo 1473 the oldest, Buonarroto 1477 second oldest, Giovansimone 1479 second youngest, and Gismondo1481 the youngest. Michelangelo's father, Leonardo Di Buonarrota Simoni, was the judicial administrator of the small town of Caprese.

    But Michelangelo’s mother, died when he was about 6 years old, so his father had to take care of him. No person knows how his mother died, but some people think she died because of illness.



    Michelangelo is famously known as an amazing painter, architect, and a sculptor. He was a poet and an engineer as well and his amazing job was the scene of the end and The Last judgement in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Michelangelo became the first Western artist to have his biography published before his death.





    Michelangelo is very famous because of all the famous sculptures, artworks and paintings he has done. He is also famous because he showed abilities beyond most, not only in own time, even now!! Did you know that a sculpture called 'The Pieta' made him famous!!
    Michelangelo’s most famous painting is the Sistine Chapel in Vatican, Rome. He also provided the world with beautiful works wonderful works of art. Michelangelo impacted the world by creating of art. He was excellent as an artist and his work continues to be important even in modern times. He is still famous because he was a sculptor who painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel for many years while laying on his back. The Pope, who he painted it for, said he would throw him off the arena if he didn't complete his work soon!


    Michelangelo died on February 18, 1564 at the age of 88, in Rome. He died of slow fever, two days before his 90th birthday. Only two days before his death he was still working on a marble sculpture, which now stands unfinished in Milan, It is called “Rondanini Pieta”.

    Hes parents did not do much besides devorce.

  12. ALBERT EINSTIEN

    In 1879 I was born in Ulm, Germany on March 14 at 11:30 am.

    In 1880 my family and I moved to Munich. I studied at a Catholic elementary school in Munich from 1885 to 1888. Then from 1888 to 1894 I studied at Liutpold Gymnasium, Munich. My parents moved to Milan in 1894, I joined them six months later. The next year I started my studies at Cantanol school Aurea.

    After a period of five years my first scientific paper was published in Switzerland.

    In 1903 I got married.

    I recieved my Phd from Zurich University in 1906. Later I discovered the Principal of Equivalence. In 1908 I was appointed as lecturer in Bern University Germany. I was then appointed as Associate Professor for Theoratical Physics at Zurich University. In 1915 I completed the Logical Theory of Relativity, it was published in 1916. I wrote the first paper on Cosmology in 1917.

    My first visit to the US was in 1921 where I lectured on Theory of Relativity at Princeton University.

    China and Japan in the year 1932 presented me with the Nobel Prize.

    In 1933, I decided to leave Germany thus I migrated to the US.

    Another publication of mine on the Evelution of Physics was published in 1938. In 1939 I wrote a letter to President Roosevelt recommending a research on nuclear weapons.

    I have had a very busy life.

  13. Early life
    Louis Pasteur


    Louis Pasteur was born December 27, 1822 in Dole, a small town in eastern France. He was the third child of proud father and mother. When he was 5 years old he absolutely loved to watch the local chemist make creams and medicines. Later that year, 1827, the Pasteur family moved to Arbois in France for a bigger house. Louis loved to draw detailed pictures. That would help him draw what he saw in the microscope later on in life. Determination also came in his childhood. Like when his friend was bit by a wolf and nearly died from rabies. Then Louis would not accept what everybody told him when he asked them why she almost died. They told him disease just happened. So he was then determined to find out about disease. His father had always wanted Louis to have a good education and do something with it.

    Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and microbiologist who is remembered for his remarkable breakthroughs in the causes and preventions of diseases. He became popular for inventing pasteurization process, a method to stop milk and wine from causing sickness.

    Legacy
    Louis Pasteur died from complications after having a series of strokes. he died at the age of 72 on September 28, 1895 in France. He died while listening to the story of St Vincent De Paul.

    Early Life
    Thomas Edison was born in Ohio to a middle class family. He was the youngest of seven children

    Main Events
    Hi is famous as an inventor and businessman. He held 1,093 patents in the USA and more in Europe. The impact of his inventions established new industries, like the electric light bulb, power utilities, and sound recording. His impact on the development of industry is why he is still considered important today.

    Legacy
    Edison died of complication from diabetes on Oct. 18,1931
