  1. Dear Mr Boardman,
I think we should use fair trade because if we don’t the farmers will have no money so they cant grow things like bananas and oranges and wheat.

But on the other hand if we use fair trade the farmers will still grow bananas and oranges and wheat. Oh and there is more. Most people like to buy fair trade produces like. Sugar and bananas oranges Coffey rice and other useful things like these. So I think I made my
self clear that we should use fair trade awesome products so I hope you consider about the things I just said.
We can make a new world together. : )

  2. Dear Mr. Boardman,
I think you should buy fair trade because it means workers work in better conditions and get paid more.

Non fair trade workers get paid less and are made to work in worse conditions. Would you like to work when pesticides are sprayed on top of you and when you are made to use poisonous plastic bags? Or would you like to work in healthy conditions, get paid better and be more environmentally friendly? Fair trade workers get the second possibility.

Nowadays a lot of people want fair trade so that they're sure that workers are treated well and are working in good conditions. There are many negative points about non fair trade. Take chocolate for example. In Ghana on non fair trade farms 200,000 children are illegally made to work with dangerous tools and poisonous equipment. After you have read this letter I hope you buy fair trade.

    Yours faithfully,
    Thomas Norden

I think we should use fairtrade because then farmers get better working conditions and use fewer chemicals.

If we don't use chemical fairtrade there's going to be chemicals used and farmers Will be working for long but getting a very little amount of money. If we do use fairtrade farmers Will get better working conditions and they wont have to use chemicals.More people want to buy fairtrade things.Would you like to be one of those farmers who have to use chemicals? So after you have read my thoughts about using fairtrade ı hope you decide to use fairtrade

  4. Dear Mr. Boardman,
In my opinion you should use fair-trade products. As you may already know fair trade is about changing the way rich companies treat the poor workers and the amount of money the producers get.
Most of fair trade products come from enormous plantations where the poor workers have to work for long stretching hours and barely get any money. Now do you think that’s fair?
Now if you want to grow plants you have to get rid of the nasty bugs that want to eat them, so the companies use chemicals to spray the plantation. That doesn’t sound mean to you does it?
Well unfortunately the workers don’t get out of the way so the chemicals also spray the workers!! That is horrible!! Also those chemicals cause very serious health problems. Would you want to go and work for a company that doesn’t pay you properly and poisons you too?
It is also true that the company uses bags that protect the plant from being eaten. Those bags also have chemicals in them. And guess what happens to them after being used. Right they are dumped anywhere. Lots of animals get poisoned because of them. Do the poor animals really deserve to die like that?! Look at the horrible environment they have to live in.
But don’t think that families with their own farms are any luckier. They have their own problems. They have to accept any price the company gives. If they don’t the company just goes to a different family that will accept the price. That is horrible!! Can you imagine you worked on something for a whole year and all the money you get is barely enough to cover your basic needs or plant new products? That is really tough, isn’t it?
Bigger companies can make the price higher for poorer farms. Also the workers can cooperate and make the price better.
Then fair trade comes in, it is when companies agree to pay a fair price. I think that is a lot better.
Also in fair trade the company agrees to pay a bonus called the fair trade premium. It used to build schools, health clinics and improving farms. I think that sounds great. The plantation workers decide how to spend their premium themselves.
More and more people want to buy fair trade now!!
    More and more companies agree!!!
Be one of those who tip the balance!!!
I hope you understand how fair trade is important to workers and buy more fair trade products!
    Your sincerely Amina

  5. Dear.Mr.Boardman

I think we should use fair trade because farmeers will get better working conditions and use not lot of chemicals.

Most of fair trade products comes from big plantation where poor people work for long hour and get paid little bit. Well do you think that is fair? I guess it is not fair. And do you know what? They spray lots of chemicals to get rid of bugs from the plants and chmicals are really bad for your body. So you should buy some fair trade things. And it will be more better then eating just normal food which is not fairtrade. Do you think is is more better ?

After you read my letter I hope you will buy more fair trade products and see how fair trade is important.

  6. Dear. Boardman,
I think buying fair trade products is better, for the following:

1.both the buyer and seller get benifit from fair trade.
2.fair trade leads to lack of poverty.
3.By fair trade the whole econemy will be stable.
    4. By fair trade corruption will be reduced.
5.It also improves companies, industry and agriculture.
After reading this I hope you do more fair trade.
    sincerely,
    Ali

  7. Dear Mr.Boardman

I think we should use fair trade because people in africa make cars and only get about 1tl.
Some farmers work so hard to give fruits to markets and get no money like bananas the farmers have to wash the bananas two times, pick the bananas, spray chemicals on the bananas so bugs don't bite it, they have to put a plastic bag on them.

The farmers only get little amounts of money and work very hard. If you were a farmer and worked really hard for like once coin what would you do? then why let this happen to the farmers. I think we should give farmers fair trade because they will be able to make more than usual.

    Sincerely,
    Nicholas Periam

  8. Dear Mr Boardman,

I am writing to you to tell you why you should buy fair-trade products.

You should buy Fair-trade products because the companies that use fair-trade, pay a fair amount for the farmers' products, plus they pay a fair-trade premium that is put towards schools and other important buildings, which do not just help the family, but the whole community or to improve their farms.

Most of the fair-trade products cost the same amount or even less than normal ones.

If they don't get paid enough, the farmers might not even have enough money to reproduce the crops!

Fair-trade farmers are more environmentally friendly and they try not to use as many chemicals and the plastic bags with chemicals on them are put in places out of harm's way.

After you have read my reasons, I hope you buy more fair-trade products.

    Yours sincerely, Arthur

  9. I think that you should buy Fair Trade products because Fair Trade labeling intends to help the farmers and producers receive a fair price for their goods. You should buy fair trade products because Fair Trade is better for the environment, Fair Trade means high quality goods and Fair trade supports communities. Fair Trade products are unique to the places they come from and the people who make them. Farmers and artisans are involved in the entire process, and as a result reflect the people and cultures they come from.
Fair Trade is trade farmers can count on. Fair Trade is committed to strengthening direct partnerships between buyers and producers. These partnerships provide a way for
buyers to purchase quality products from people they trust, and offer a sustainable and reliable way for farmers, artisans and their families to improve their livelihood. Fair Trade means sustainable local economies. Fair Trade gives farmers and artisans control of
their own future. Although people have criticized Fair Trade labeling because it is difficult to track the benefits which farmers should receive from their products which are sold more expensively than non-fair trade products, the belief is that over time farmers can build their own businesses, rather than working for a middle man, and the profits stay in their communities.
Fair Trade means what you buy matters. By choosing Fair Trade products, you are not only accessing high quality products, you are making a difference in the lives of the people who grow the food you eat and the goods you use.

    Dear Mr Boardman

I am writing to you to tell why fair trade is important and why you should buy fair trade products.

You should buy more fair trade products because it makes companies richer and workers get a better price to the workers which workers can build better farms and schools and more hygienic materials.

The good thing they cost like normal bananas,so it does not make a difference.

But if farmers don't get paid to reproduce the crops

after you read this I hope you buy more fair trade products

    sincerely,Tomas.Fernandes

    Dear Mr Boardman,

I would always buy fair trade products. I believe that fair trade is better as, for example if you would be working on a harbor, loading bananas on a ship and you were payed $ 5 per hour, and then you asked another person to work for you, but you told him that you would pay him only $ 4 per hour as he comes from a poor country. That wouldn’t be fair because you are asking him to do the same job! Also, when you buy fair trade products, you can be sure that children like us did not have to work for this.

Not only that, but, fairtrade is great for the enviroment as they are not using pesticise and not using other chemicals. If you were a farmer would you like work while pesticides are being sprayed all over you? Or, would you use these poisonous plastic bags to cover the bananas against insects? Or, would you like to work when you feel healthy, that the kids don’t feel sick, or many other good reasons?

I also believe that fair trade is good to have higher quality products because if they wouldn’t be, who could ever buy them! Did you know that fair trade bananas, coffee, chocolate, oranges, and all other food tastes better than all these sprayed ones, I don’t even want to think about farmers and kids working in those bad conditions!!!

So if you use fair trade products, we could maybe even stop global warming, and also change the lives of the people who grow the food you eat!

I hope you understood me, so you could buy more fair trade products!

    Best Regards,

    Maxima

  12. Dear.Mr.Boardman

I think we should use fair trade because farmers will get better working conditions and use not lots of chemicals.

Most of fair trade products come from big plantation where poor people work for long hour and get paid little bit. Well do you think that is fair? I guess it is not fair. Did you know they use chemicals to spray away the bugs and the workers get sprayed to how awful right?
Sometimes farmers do not get paid enough to plant the crops.

Some times with the chemicals bags they use they throw them any were. It is not fair farmers do not get paid a lot and companies do.
